Five stars is not enough! Mati did an absolutely excellent job, and we could not be happier customers. What truly sets Mati apart is how deeply she listens. Mati took the time to understand exactly what we liked and disliked. Even when we could not find the right words to describe our style, she somehow had the ability to see exactly what we wanted before we even knew it ourselves. Mati was also incredibly flexible and worked seamlessly around our busy lives and schedules. The entire process was stress-free and the final result is beautiful. Mati provided me with her expert decorating advice. She saved me money by using all my own art & items that I already had. She magically moved things around and gave my home an updated feel and look. I recently did an update on my condo, and Mati was a terrific help. My first idea was to use her eyes and experience to tell me which of my ideas were good and which weren’t. I quickly realized that she was gently pushing me in the right directions, saving me from some mistakes. As the project became bigger than I had expected she became the general contractor for me, and that was an enormous help. She had access to the various trades I needed, and suggested things I wouldn’t have known anything about. And she was great about riding herd on them whenever there was any problem. Mati is also very pleasant and easy to work with. I recommend her thoroughly.

Mati was amazing to work with, start to finish. We didn’t know what we wanted from our interior renovation. Mati helped us focus on improvements that would not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also improve the functionality of our home. When we first thought about renovating our kitchen, we quickly realized that we didn’t have a clue — not a clue as to where to start, how to select colours, fabrics, paint, cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, how to put it all together — it was overwhelming. When Mati came to our door for the first time, she was warm, reassuring, respectful and full of enthusiasm. Mati took the time to listen to us, to find out what we were thinking, to let us know what she was picturing — and by the end of the first meeting, we were well on our way to starting our renovation! Throughout, Mati kept the ball rolling. She stayed in touch and sent us detailed emails and texts as to what to expect in the coming weeks. When needed, Mati met us at various businesses to help us make our selections. She checked in on us and the work that was being done and she followed up on absolutely everything — she is amazingly well-organized! We shared a lot of laughter along the way as she taught us “design elements” and she made the whole renovation process an incredible learning opportunity. Where do I start? Mati is a highly experienced and knowledgeable designer who takes the time to really understand her clients’ needs and turn client visions into reality. I had the pleasure of working with Mati these last couple months in plotting a course for my interior decorating needs. Not only is Mati well-connected in her field, she had excellent vision for my space and knew exactly where to look for the perfect accents, furnishings, and appurtenances. My husband and I were in the process of painting exterior doors, window trims, garage door and backyard fence. We wanted a darker colour but needed help selecting a shade to complement the brick and siding. Our painter suggested we book an appointment with Mati. In no time at all Mati selected the perfect dark shade and a lighter accent colour for our project. It felt like talking with a friend rather than a consultant. We love the results and highly recommend Mati for any of your interior or exterior design needs.

In my experience Mati Design doesn’t mean just design. For us it meant an honest assessment of a house that was in disrepair followed by top notch project management and hands on work to make a daunting estate liquidation pain free. Mati managed it all in record time — the kitchen upgrade, contents removal, painting, deep cleaning, many repairs, fixtures upgrades and finally beautifully staged the house so we got it on the market quickly and then got top dollar. Every spending choice was made focused on where it would pay back. Her communication kept us informed every step of the way. We’re kind of sorry it’s all over. I was looking for a hassle-free, ready-to-move-in interior for my new apartment on arrival from Europe and found Mati, who over-delivered! We never met in real life before the project was finished, but online contact was more than enough for Mati to get a good grasp of what I was looking for. She has done a wonderful job!

Mati was an invluable resource and calming force when my husband and I did an overwhelming downsize to apartment living. We kept some furniture, bought new items, with a vision in mind that just wan’t working out. We recently had Mari help us update our main living space, dining room and kitchen. This was third time we engaged Mati to help us choose paint colours and design elements and once again we are pleased with the end result. She determined what pieces of furniture and art work that were important to us, recommended a paint colour and helped us make decisions re upholstery, counter top and back splash. Mati did an excellent job staging our condo townhome. The unit was 42 years old and in need of some spicing up after a reno. Mati chose items that perfectly accented the place. Her staging was very helpful towards the sale of the home. Definitely recommended.

Mati’s extensive experience and talent enabled her to quickly envision how to update the main floor of our home. There were several different phases to the renovation and Mati was excellent at suggesting great decor ideas, recommending trades (painter, kitchen renovator, floor installation, etc), problem solving and co-ordinating. All of the trades she recommended were excellent and Mati was always on top of communicating with them as well as us to keep things moving along in a timely manner.
